.

What to expect in your first consult

When we first meet, it is important to gain a good history about your health. We will talk through your symptoms, medical history and any other relevant information. This is followed by an assessment that is tailored to your specific condition and symptoms. It may involve looking at your movement, muscles, joints, breathing pattern, strength or pelvic floor function.

For pelvic health issues, an internal vaginal examination may be recommended to best assess you and guide your treatment. You will always be given information about the assessment and what to expect so you can make an informed decision. This type of assessment gives us the most accurate information about your pelvic floor function, tone, strength, sensitivity and can allow us to assess prolapse symptoms.

We will always discuss your assessment findings and condition and give you a clear treatment plan on how to manage your condition. We aim to provide treatment that is aligned with the current best evidence and your unique goals and circumstances.

From here we want to empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to recover and return to movement, function and all the things you love.

A bit about Sarah…

I grew up in Tangambalanga in the beautiful Kiewa Valley. I was a little sport obsessed growing up, involved in anything from netball, dancing, tennis, running and swimming. So progression into the field of Physiotherapy was a natural fit for me.

I have been a Physiotherapist for over 15 years, working predominantly in private practice. I love working with people, helping them through an injury, managing a health condition or proactively to prevent injury. I have a special interest in treating back and pelvic injuries, utilising manual techniques like massage, muscle energy techniques (MET), dry needling together with exercise therapy.

The birth of my first daughter sparked my interest in the field of pelvic health and since then I have not looked back. I love working with women, empowering them to learn about and appreciate their bodies, in order to optimise their wellbeing and quality of life. A favourite stage of mine is working with women throughout their pregnancy and postnatal journey and I am loving my collaboration with the team at Nurture Midwifery Care.

I am a mum to two beautiful, energetic girls. I love spending time with my family, exercising, enjoying my husband’s cooking, swimming and I am learning to love camping.
